He recalls some strange sightings near the base in "Subic", sightings in which the government took great interest. After he meets his team, a briefing takes place, and everyone learns of their surprising mission. After the briefing, the story continues with the incredible adventures that will change the lives of men and women in the team involved. The characters are relating to the zodiac signs and their personalities reflect the impact that the zodiac signs have on them.
He preferred the land and the solid rock beneath his feet. He was a Marine through and through. Still, things were changing and he had needed to roll with the punches. The Navy was calling in additional support on their teams and Aries had been the man for the job.
When rumors arise, a team is gathered by the US government and sent there to look for whatever clues that they can find. The team is led by a General, named Hank 'Aries'. The team is full of very different personalities making the mission more difficult. The names of the soldiers, officers, scientists, teachers, and doctors that are within this team easily point to their personalities, characters, appearances, tastes, and so on. The way this team works together and manages to complete its mission will help you understand why Astrology can be so transparent when different groups of people work together.
The Astrologio had been located about 200 miles South of Manila and it could be viewed from the top of a very large cliff overlooking the whole valley. The town at the top of the cliff was easily accessible by land transport but Astrologio itself was better approached by sea. The actual sea in Astrologio had been formed by an enormous crater that had evolved over centuries of volcanic activity in the area. There was a very small volcano which came up out of the sea and was surrounded by water on all sides. Then the coastline got thick with jungle all around.
Ho Li Sagittarius had actually worked for the US government as well. He had come to the Philippines from Singapore and then from Guam where he had originally worked as a FEMA officer for many years prior to this assignment. He had eventually gotten in with the US Navy and he was now a top level associate on the Astrologio mission. His entire shop overlooked a breathtaking view of the volcano and the back room where he worked was equipped with several radios and computers as well as an early model GPS device for tracking the other agents on the team.
Educational Read for Astrology Enthusiasts
In this educational and mysterious story there are different people who are given codenames for their top secret US government mission to study the unknown (to the Americans especially) island of Astrologio. What is fascinating is how each character interacts with others, and what happens to them throughout the story. There are surprises at each turn of the page and one example is how the General (Aries) changes. Of course you would have to read the entire story to get the full taste but one portion would serve as a teaser.
“There is a cusp,” she explained, “between General Aries and myself.” Then she continued explaining how other cusps existed between her and her two brothers, between Dr. Cancer and Captain Leo, and between Ms. Virgo and Lieutenant Libra.
Ms. Virgo captured her attention to remind her about the concept of ‘limits’ in the study of mathematical equations. Ms. Taurus spoke up to the class, thanking Ms. Virgo for the reminder.
“Although you can always approach your cusp, you can never actually reach it. The cusp functions much like a limit in Calculus. You can come infinitely close, but you can never reach the cusp.”
The men in the group looked dumbfounded and wondered how this information was going to help them on their mission. Ms. Taurus continued on in the same manner as she moved into the concept of the ‘rising sign’.
